BCCI ups the ante, Ranji trophy winners will now get Rs. 5 crore

India's Cricket Control Board announced on April 16th that prize money for domestic tournaments will be increased. This year the winner of the Ranji Trophy is a whopping 50 million rupees. Ranji Trophy champions will be receiving 5 crores this year under the new pay structure. They currently receive prize money of 2 crores.  In addition, the losing semifinals and runner-up in the Ranji Trophy will receive 3 crores and 1 crore, respectively.
Among others, the Irani Cup cash prize has now been doubled. The winning team will now earn 50 lakhs instead of 25 lakh, while the team coming in second place will receive 25 lakh instead of the present no-cash-reward policy.

For the Duleep Trophy, the winning team will receive one crore and the runner-up team will receive fifty lakh rupees, while the Vijay Hazare Trophy winners will now receive a cheque for one crore and the team placing second will receive fifty lakh rupees. The Deodhar Trophy winners will receive an additional 40 lakh rupees, while the losers will receive 20 lakh. The winning team will receive a cheque for 80 lakh for winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and the losing team will receive a cheque for 40 lakh.
