Day 10 of the Asian Games kicked off with a bang as India's Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam clinched a historic bronze medal in the men's canoe double 1000m final.
This victory marked India's inaugural medal in Canoe Sprint at the Asian Games and a long-awaited return to the podium since the 1994 Asian Games.
The Indian pair secured the third spot with an impressive time of 3.53.329, trailing behind the gold-winning Uzbekistan duo of Shokhmurod Kholmuradov and Nurislam Ugli by a margin of 9.533 seconds. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's Yemelyanov brothers, Timofey and Sergey, took home the silver medal.
The last time India tasted success in this event was during the 1994 Hiroshima Asian Games when Siji Sadanandan and Johnny Rommel secured a bronze, making their mark in history.
With this incredible achievement, India's overall medal count now stands at 61.
