The 19th Asian Games 2022 will take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 23–October 8, and Amul has been named as the contingent's official sponsor.
Amul's in-charge managing director, Jayen Mehta, stated in a statement announcing the association: "Amul is pleased to announce its association with the Asian Games 2022 and the Indian Olympic Association. Since the London 2012 Olympics, Amul has collaborated with Indian athletes via the Indian Olympic Association for all of their participation in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games. We are happy to further solidify our ten-year partnership.
In recognition of the sportsperson's accomplishments, Amul will utilise the integrated logo in its communications as part of this connection.
There will be 482 events spread across 40 sports at the XIX Asian Games in 2022. Athletes from all around Asia compete in the multi-sport continental tournament known as the Asian Games, or Asiad. It is held every four years. The 19th Asian Games, Hangzhou 2022, is the official name of the future competition. It was originally supposed to take place last year, but COVID-19 forced a postponement.
634 Indian competitors will compete in 38 different sports at the Asian Games, with athletics hosting the highest contingent with 65 individuals. India sent 570 athletes to the previous competition in Jakarta in 2018, when they participated in 36 sports and took home 70 medals.
