In Telangana, posters criticizing Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for alleged corruption were prominently displayed in Hyderabad. The posters bore the tagline "BookmyCM deals available @ 30% commission," raising allegations against the Chief Minister.
This poster war unfolded in Hyderabad amidst heightened political tensions, especially in the context of the upcoming elections and growing political rivalries. Notably, similar posters targeting the Congress Party had previously been placed across the city. These posters accused national leaders of the Congress of corruption and labelled the Congress Working Committee (CWC) as the "Corrupt Working Committee."

In response to these anti-Congress posters, Pawan Khera, a prominent Congress leader, made allegations of corruption against KCR and his daughter, BRS MLC K. Kavitha. Khera remarked that there seemed to be an "agreement" within Kavitha's family to engage in corruption, with her brother handling corruption in Hyderabad, KCR in Telangana, and Kavitha herself responsible for corruption outside Telangana.
Meanwhile, top Congress leaders convened in Hyderabad for the first meeting of the reconstituted Congress Working Committee (CWC). The primary agenda of this meeting was to develop a comprehensive roadmap for the party's electoral strategy, particularly in the context of the upcoming assembly polls in five states and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
By holding the CWC meeting in Telangana's capital, the Congress party sought to send a strong message that it was determined to challenge the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in the poll-bound state.
