Miss World 2024 is Czech Republic's Krystyna Pyszkova

In a spectacular event held in Mumbai, Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World 2024 on Saturday. The reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska from Poland, had the honor of passing on the prestigious title to her successor in front of a star-studded audience at the grand finale.

Meet Krystyna Pyszková

Krystyna Pyszková, a 24-year-old student, volunteer, and international model, emerged victorious at the Miss World 2024 competition. Pursuing dual degrees in Law and Business Administration, she also thrives as a model. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Krystyna is the founder of the Krystyna Pyszko Foundation, actively engaged in various initiatives. Notably, she takes pride in establishing an English school for underprivileged children in Tanzania, where she dedicated her time as a volunteer. With a passion for music and art, Krystyna has spent nine years in an Art Academy, playing the transverse flute and the violin.

 

Beauty With A Purpose

Krystyna's Beauty With A Purpose project at the Miss World pageant spotlighted her efforts in Tanzania, where she inaugurated a school and volunteered to promote quality education for children. Driven by her passion for education, she decided to extend her foundation's reach in the Czech Republic, focusing on providing diverse educational programs not only for children but also for the elderly and mentally disabled individuals.

 

India's Stint at the Pageant and Historic Wins

Miss Lebanon Yasmina Zaytoun secured the position of the first runner-up after Pyszkova at the Miss World 2024 contest. The event, hosted by India after 28 years, featured the representation of 22-year-old Sini Shetty from India, crowned Femina Miss India World in 2022. Unfortunately, Shetty couldn't secure a place in the top 4 of the competition. India has a rich history at the Miss World pageant, having won the title six times with iconic representatives like Reita Faria, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Manushi Chillar.

 

Insights into the 71st Miss World 2024

The 71st Miss World pageant showcased contestants from 112 countries, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC. The judging panel for the finale included luminaries like film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, actors Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, news personality Rajat Sharma, social worker Amruta Fadnavis, Vineet Jain (MD of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Limited), Julia Morley (Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization), Jamil Saidi (Strategic Partner & Host – Miss World India), and three former Miss Worlds, including Manushi Chillar.

 

Star-Studded Event and Cultural Highlights

Filmmaker Karan Johar and former Miss World Megan Young hosted the event, featuring dazzling performances by singers Shaan, Neha Kakkar, and Tony Kakkar. A video message by Priyanka Chopra Jonas emphasizing the importance of 'beauty with purpose,' the tagline associated with the Miss World pageant, added a meaningful touch to the proceedings. The event also showcased the cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar" along with 13 fast-track Miss World contestants, who walked the stage to the newly released song “Sakal Ban.”

The month-long Miss World event encompassed various competitions, including talent showcases, sports challenges, and charitable initiatives, all aimed at highlighting the qualities that make these contestants ambassadors of change.
