The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be held from May 21 to May 31, 2023, with reserved slots from June 1 to June 7, according to the UGC chairman. This year, more than 16 million people have applied for the CUET-UG, which is more than four million more than last year.
12.50 lakh students registered for the CUET-UG in 2022, and 9.9 lakh students filed applications, according to the UGC. 16.85 lakh students signed up for the CUET-UG in total in 2023. Out of 16.85 lakhs, 13.995 lakhs paid the application charge and presented the application structure, an increment of 4.0 lakh understudies. The total number of students who will take the CUET-UG exam will rise by 41% in 2023, according to a tweet from UGC chairman Jagdesh Kumar.
The CUET is an online computer-based test (CBT) for college and university admissions. In accordance with the notification issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), educational partners, institutions, colleges, and universities have been requested to assist UGC and NTA in conducting the examination. It stated that the University Grants Commission would need to use university facilities for a specific time period.
At central and participating universities, the CUET has been implemented for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs. To ensure a smooth entrance, the UGC monitors and collaborates with the National Testing Agency (NTA).
A further closure of the extended application period for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate Courses (CUET UG 2023) was made on March 30 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Interested candidates can find more information on the CUET Samarth Portal at https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/.
CUET has been selected by 168 universities for admission to UG programs.
The CUET is the second largest entrance exam, after the NEET-UG, which has an average of 18 lakh registrations, with 14.9 lakh registrations.
