As part of its fleet expansion and network, Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group, is planning to recruit over 1,000 pilots, comprising captains and trainers. The airline advertised that it will be adding over 500 aircraft to its fleet. Air India has already ordered 470 new aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. Currently, the airline has a pilot strength of more than 1,800. As per the firm order, Airbus will supply 210 A320/321 Neo/XLR and 40 A350-900/1000, while Boeing will supply 190 737-Max, 20 787s and 10 777s. The Tata Group, which acquired the airline in January last year, placed an advertisement on Thursday stating that they will be hiring over 1,000 pilots.
