The Union Home Ministry announced that former Agniveers will now receive a 10% reservation in the jobs available with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), this comes after one week after announcing a similar reservation for the BSF.
The government also announced a relaxation in the maximum age limit depending on whether they are a member of the first batch or future batches of Agniveers after amending the regulations under the CISF Act, 1968 (50 of 1968).
According to the ministry, the maximum age limit may be lowered by up to five years for applicants in the first batch of former Agniveers and by up to three years for candidates in other batches. Ex-Agniveers would also not be required to take the physical efficiency exam, according to PTI.
