Vince McMahon Steps Down Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations and Lawsuit

Vince McMahon has resigned from TKO Group, a sports entertainment firm, effective immediately, following sexual misconduct charges against him, which he denies.

On Friday, McMahon announced his decision to resign from his positions as TKO Executive Chairman and TKO Board of Directors. When World Wrestling Entertainment and Endeavor's Ultimate Fighting Championship combined in April of last year, TKO Group Holdings was established.

A day after McMahon's retirement, Janel Grant, a former employee of WWE, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault, human trafficking, and physical abuse. He refuted every accusation.

McMahon resigns from TKO group

"I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant's lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth. I intend to defend myself against these baseless accusations and look forward to clearing my name. However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners, and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader, it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately,"

McMahon has been associated with WWE for decades, having succeeded his father, Vincent J. McMahon, the founder of the then-World Wrestling Federation, in 1982. The WWE became the world's top wrestling organization under the younger McMahon's direction, but not without controversy.

In 2022, McMahon resigned from the WWE due to accusations of wrongdoing. In January 2023, McMahon rejoined the business, and in the end, he combined WWE and UFC.
