Priest Dies After Falling Crucifix Strikes Him During Live Mass in Ecuador ⛪

A tragic incident occurred at Perpetuo Socorro Church in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari reportedly died after a large wooden crucifix fell on him during a livestreamed Mass on Saturday.

The priest was standing at the altar when the cross detached from the wall and struck him. Worshippers rushed to help, but emergency responders later pronounced him dead. The Archdiocese of Guayaquil confirmed his passing.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly after the priest delivered a sermon about death and the fleeting nature of life. The exact reason the crucifix fell remains unknown.
