Russia has banned drone flights due to security concerns

For security reasons, more than 30 Russian regions, including the two major cities, have banned drone flights. The second-largest city in Russia, St. Petersburg, declared on Thursday that drones are not permitted in its airspace until May 15. An earlier report said that St. Petersburg would temporarily outlaw drone flights at the end of April.

Leningrad's governor, Alexander Drozdenko, said that the city has outlawed the use of drones in the air. According to media reports, the ban was implemented as a result of Monday's explosion of a power line pylon in the vicinity of Leningrad.

Following an attempted drone strike on Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence in the Kremlin on Wednesday, a drone flight restriction was implemented in Moscow, the nation's capital and largest city. According to experts, more areas around the nation are anticipated to ban drone flights.
