He made his Formula One debut in 2007 with McLaren before joining the Mercedes team in 2013.
Hamilton began his career in karting before progressing to the Renault Formula One Team as a test driver. Hamilton has been praised for his aggressive driving style and ability to extract the most from his car.
Recently, Hamilton sent the following message to the young karters: "Always aim high, keep pushing, and never give up. Never give up, and never lose faith in your abilities or yourself. Hamilton is considered one of the greatest Formula One driver in the history of the sport and is often compared to other greats such as Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.
In 2008, he won his first world championship; since then, he has added six more crowns. He is the first and only driver to have finished first or second in at least one race per season. He has contributed to many humanitarian and environmental initiatives, including the "Hamilton Commission" to promote diversity in racing.
He has received the Laureus World Sports Award twice, and in the 2020 New Year's Honours, he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire. Since the sport's inception in 1950, Lewis Hamilton is the only driver to have won a Grand Prix every ten years.
