Japan's Hokkaido struck by 6.0 magnitude earthquake, Turkey shaken with a 5.3

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 occurred on Friday at 5.44 am (local time) in the Hokkaido region of Japan according to GFZ, a German Research Centre for Geosciences.

The earthquake was at a depth of 46 km, according to records.

There have been no casualties reported so far. Further details are awaited.

Similar to that, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 hit eastern Turkey on Thursday, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

As reported by the EMSC, the earthquake struck 10 km (SSW) south-southwest of Malatya, Turkey, on Thursday at 17:48 (UTC). A depth of 10.9 km was recorded for the earthquake.

Taking to its Twitter handle, EMSC stated, "#Earthquake 10 km SW of #Malatya (#Turkey) 19 min ago (local time 20:48:00). Updated map - Colored dots represent local shaking & damage level reported by eyewitnesses."
