Indian consulate in San Francisco was set on fire on July 2 in yet another attack on it.
A group of Khalistan allegedly tried to set the embassy on fire. Even so, there were only minor losses since the San Francisco Fire Department promptly put out the fire.
This attack follows the vandalism of the consulate by Khalistani supporters in March when the Punjab police had begun a large operation against Amritpal Singh and his associates.
Supporters of Khalistan shared a video of the arson at the Indian consulate in San Francisco on Twitter on July 2.
The video, which had the saying "violence begets violence" written across it, also featured articles about the recent death of Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was located in Canada.
Nijjar, one of India's most wanted terrorists, was killed by gunfire last month outside a gurdwara in Canada. He had a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head.
In reaction to the attack, Matthew Miller, US State Department Spokesperson, said, "The US strongly condemns the reported vandalism and attempted arson against the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. Vandalism or violence against diplomatic facilities or foreign diplomats in the US is a criminal offense".
