Chris Hipkins to Replace Jacinda Ardern as New Zealand’s Prime Minister

It is confirmed that Chris Hipkins is set to become New Zealand's next prime minister after Jacinta Ardern steps down. 

He has a long-term political alliance with Ardern and was the only candidate to lead the ruling Labour Party. He has gained a lot of recognition for his role in overseeing the country's response to the pandemic.

He is currently the Minister for Police, Education and Public Service, and is expected to be confirmed as the new leader at a meeting of Labour’s 64 lawmakers on Sunday.

Chris Hipkins is a New Zealand politician who is currently the Leader of the House in the New Zealand House of Representatives and the Minister of Education. He is a member of the Labour Party and has been a Member of the New Zealand House of Representatives since 2008.

Hipkins was appointed as the Minister of Education in 2017 and has been serving in this role since then. He was appointed as the Leader of the House in the New Zealand House of Representatives in 2020.

He has been involved in efforts to improve mental health services for young people in New Zealand. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from Victoria University of Wellington. 

Hipkins has been a strong advocate for education reform, and has introduced a number of policies aimed at improving the education system in New Zealand.
