A radio broadcaster was shot dead outside his home in the Philippines

he latest in the country's lengthy list of journalist fatalities was a radio host who was shot dead outside his home in the central Philippines on Wednesday, according to authorities. Police Colonel Samuel Delorino told AFP that gunmen riding motorcycles shot and killed Cresenciano Bunduquin, 50, in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro province. Assailants were fleeing the scene when Bunduquin's son's car struck the attackers, killing one of them. The final suspect managed to flee. Delorino stated that the hot pursuit operation was still in progress. Since the election of President Ferdinand Marcos in June, three journalists have been killed, including Bunduquin. A radio personality named Percival Mabasa was shot and killed in Manila as he drove to his studio less than a year ago. The most recent murder took place shortly after that.
