Goa was shaken in January 2026 after two Russian women were found brutally murdered in the Arambol–Morjim belt.
Police arrested Russian national Aleksei Leonov, who is accused of killing his live-in partner and another woman within 48 hours.
During interrogation, he reportedly claimed involvement in multiple more deaths, prompting fears of a serial killer.
Authorities say the motive may involve money disputes and obsessive relationships, while investigations continue to verify further claims.
The case has sparked political outrage and renewed concerns over law and order in Goa’s coastal belt.
