On February 28, police in Manipur's Meitei-dominated valley districts protested after an Arambai Tenggol member kidnapped a police officer. The incident happened when armed miscreants broke into Additional Superintendent of Police Moirangthem Amit's Imphal East home. After being kidnapped, the officer and one of his escorts were eventually found and taken to a hospital, where they received medical attention. The miscreants' destruction of the officer's property caused two people to suffer injuries, which prompted police intervention.
