PM Modi’s visit to the US offers India an opportunity to not only solidify strategic alliances but also to forge critical partnerships in healthcare, with the Cancer Moonshot initiative potentially benefiting millions of Indians in the fight against cancer.

India's Role in Global Health Efforts

India's involvement in global healthcare initiatives, like the Cancer Moonshot, highlights its commitment to contributing to worldwide health improvements. As a developing nation with a growing healthcare infrastructure, India could use this collaboration to strengthen its own systems, ensuring that innovations in cancer treatment and prevention are accessible to its population.

What Is the Cancer Moonshot Initiative?

The Cancer Moonshot, initiated in 2016 and funded by the 21st Century Cures Act, aims to accelerate cancer research and enhance treatments. The initiative brings together patients, advocates, researchers, and doctors, creating a unified effort to advance research that will benefit patients. It focuses on speeding up progress in cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment, offering hope to millions of patients worldwide.
