PM Modi Launches Mumbai's First Underground Metro Line, Unveils Major Projects Across Maharashtra

Synopsis: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Maharashtra to inaugurate the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3, marking the city's first fully underground metro service. In addition to flagging off a portion of the metro line, PM Modi will also oversee the launch of various development initiatives, including disbursement of funds under the PM-KISAN scheme, unveiling solar parks, launching agricultural projects, and laying foundation stones for new infrastructure.

Mumbai's first underground metro line will welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Maharashtra as he inaugurates the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3. The Aarey JVLR to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) stretch is 12.69 kilometres, which will partially be opened.

Inauguration Ceremony of Mumbai Metro and a free ride

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the flag of the new metro line at BKC station. Subsequently, he will travel by a short metro ride from BKC to Santacruz station and greet the Laadki Bahin beneficiaries, students, and workers on the way. The Prime Minister will also launch a new mobile application, MetroConnect3, to enhance the passenger experience with the latest features.

Releasing a Coffee Table Book on the Metro's Journey

As a part of the inaugural, a coffee table book on the making of Mumbai's underground metro will be released. The book has some compelling images that indicate the changes in the landscape of transport in the city.

Key Development Programs in Agriculture

At the event, PM Modi will be issuing ₹20,000 crore cheques to 9.4 crore farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme as it crosses ₹3.45 lakh crore in total fund distribution. He will also launch the 5th tranche of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, amounting to ₹2,000 crore.
Besides this, the government will also initiate over 7,500 projects worth ₹1,920 crore under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, focusing on improving post-harvest management by including warehouses, cold storage, and processing units.

Infrastructure Push Across Maharashtra

Laying foundation stones for key infra projects like the Elevated Eastern Motorway Extension which is to facilitate connectivity from South Mumbai to Thane. Specially, this day will see the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project being launched at its first phase dealing with road development.
 

Green Energy and Technology for Farmers

The Prime Minister shall launch five solar parks under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana - 2.0 and launch technology for indigenous sex-sorted semen for cattle, besides felicitating beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana.

Transformational Gagan Yatra for Urban Infrastructure

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a new administrative building for Thane Municipal Corporation, costing about ₹700 crore, that will consolidate all municipal offices at one center, for efficient citizen services.
