Gurugram welcomes PM Modi for a landmark event
Prime Minister Modi's presence shone at the inauguration ceremony in Gurugram, Haryana. One of the noteworthy projects that was officially opened was the Dwarka Expressway's Haryana segment, which was designed to reduce traffic on NH-48 between Delhi and Gurugram.
Built at an estimated cost of Rs 4,100 crore, the 19-kilometer Haryana segment consists of two packages: the Basai ROB to Kherki Daula and the Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB). The motorway is expected to promote regional development and connectivity by providing direct access to the Gurugram Bypass and the Delhi IGI Airport.
PM Modi Highlights Infrastructure's Role in Rural Empowerment
In addition to highlighting the crucial connection between infrastructure development and reducing poverty, PM Modi emphasized the revolutionary effects of better roads and internet connectivity in rural areas. The Prime Minister highlighted the promise for improved possibilities in rural India, made possible by access to vital services like healthcare and education as well as digital infrastructure.
The PMO claims that the ceremony also marked the laying of the cornerstone for several national highway projects around the nation. The Amritsar-Bathinda corridor in Punjab, the Shamli-Ambala Highway in Haryana, the Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur Section of NH-748A in Karnataka, and the Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Motorway in Andhra Pradesh are notable examples of these.
These initiatives, together with 39 other projects across the country, are expected to greatly improve the National Highway network, boost socio-economic growth, provide job opportunities, and encourage trade and commerce in various parts of India.
