First Term of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini to End Today

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will formally enter the second term of his tenure today as Chief Minister of Haryana after having emerged victorious in the recently concluded assembly elections. The swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be conducted at Panchkula today is going to be a very grand affair, in which top political leaders are also scheduled to participate.

Big Names Arranged for Swearing-in Ceremony

Some high-profile people on the guest list of the event include BJP leaders and allies, who in this case are the likes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and key BJP figures such as Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and the former Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar. The chief ministers and deputies who are coming from BJP-ruled states to attend the event in support of the new term of Saini.

BJP's Historic Win Under Saini's Leadership

The Dalit leader Saini played an important role as BJP tasted success in the Haryana Assembly elections, staged on 5 October, in which the party stood victorious in 48 of the 90 seats. It was the third successive term for BJP in Haryana, and Saini was at the forefront. His election was unanimous as the BJP's legislature party leader in Haryana, after which he met with Governor Bandaru Dattatreya to stake the claim for the next government.

Ceremony Details and Security Arrangements

With the estimated gathering size around 50,000 people, the event today has turned out to be a sheer security event. Fourteen big LED screens would be placed at the venue for the gathering of the attendees. Haryana BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli confirmed that opposition figures, apart from BJP leaders, social organizations, and prominent farmers would join the celebration.

PM Modi's Post-Ceremony Meeting

After taking the oath, PM Modi is scheduled to attend a crucial meeting comprising leaders and representatives of the National Democratic Alliance, NDA. The session is scheduled for 3 pm to 7 pm at Hotel Lalit in Panchkula, in order to understand if this day holds more depth for Haryana but also in the case of national politics.
