Maharashtra, Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024 Schedule Announced

Schedule for the forthcoming 2024 Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand announced by the Election Commission of India. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar presented the election plan along with the importance of this election cycle.

Key Facts of Maharashtra Elections

The one of the largest state in India, Maharashtra will be electing all the 288 assembly seats spread across its 36 districts. Of which, 25 are Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 29 Scheduled Caste (SC) seats. The voting procedure will be transparent and flawless said Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. And asked voters to vote and stated its importance.

One-Phase Voting in Maharashtra

The decision came out the elections in Maharashtra will be in single phase announced by the Election Commission in the press confrence. This will ensure that voting takes place with minimal disruptions.  In Maharashtra, over 9.63 crore eligible voters will participate in the election, while 2.6 crore voters will cast their votes in Jharkhand.

The Maharashtra Assembly election will be conducted in a single phase.  Maharashtra to hold voting on November 20, over 9.63 crore voters to cast vote. On one side is the ruling Mahayuti Alliance, which includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena-Eknath Shinde faction, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar. On the other side is the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, consisting of the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP led by Sharad Pawar, and the Congress party.

Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: Two-Phase Voting

In Jharkhand, the election will be held in two phases: on November 13 and November 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which is part of the INDIA bloc and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The NDA in Jharkhand consists of the BJP, Janata Dal (United), and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU).
