Indian Navy rescues ship from drone attack in Gulf of Aden, saves 13 Indians

The Indian Navy bravely responded quickly to the distress call after a drone hit a merchant vessel in the Gulf of Aden. Attackers set fire to the Liberian-flagged commercial ship MSCSkyII on March 4.

 

By 10:30 p.m., the Indian Navy's INS Kolkata had already arrived at the scene of the accident. The ship was in the area for naval security operations. Twelve people from INS Kolkata's expert firefighting team got on the ship early the next morning to help put out the fire. An expert EOD team also got on the ship to look for any remaining risks.

 

The Indian Navy safely escorted the ship to safe waters. It had a crew of 23 people, 13 of whom were Indian. The quick rescue operation kept everyone on board the merchant vessel safe.Worries are rising about attacks by Houthi militants on commercial ships in the Red Sea, which led to this event.
