Eight men are accused of raping a teenage girl in a town in Maharashtra's Palghar district, and the police have already taken all of the suspects into custody. An official informed PTI that the attack occurred on the night between Friday and Saturday, during which the accused raped the girl in an empty apartment in their beach town before carrying her to the sand and sexually abusing her once again.
As stated by a Palghar district rural police official, a gang-rape complaint has been filed against the suspects at Satpati police station; the victim was about 16 years old.
Furthermore, the girl's parents hunted for her when she didn't come home on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the Palghar police on Sunday. She was still weeping when they grabbed her. Later, according to the announcement, they went to the police, who located the girl. The people that were seized have been held in police custody until December 22.
"The victim said in her complaint filed on Saturday that her suffering commenced at 8 p.m. on December 16 and lasted until 10 a.m. on December 17, during which the accused brought her to an empty home in Mahim village where they rotated raping her." Later, they transported her to the beach, where they attacked her sexually in the bushes, as the campaign spokesman once again explained.
The police detained the eight suspects early on Saturday night based on the claimant's information. They were arrested for violating several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 376 (D) (gang-rape), 366 (A) (procuration of a minor girl), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (unlawful confinement), and 323 (voluntarily causing harm) and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, he said.
The 16-year-old girl was raped by the eight accused throughout the night on Friday and Saturday, and they then brought her to the beach, where they abused her again. The event occurred in their beach village's vacant cottage. Until December 22, all of the criminals had been kept in police custody.
According to the panel's head, Rupali Chakankar, the Maharashtra State Commission for Women has taken suo moto notice of the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl by eight males in a town in the Palghar district and has asked police to take harsh action against the offenders.
In a video message, Chakankar claimed that the commission was made aware of the occurrence of suo moto (on its own) after learning about it via social media.
The Palghar district superintendent of police has been ordered by the commission to punish the captured culprits severely.
