Hemant Soren is set to assume office as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday, November 28. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground at 4 PM. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will administer the oath to the 49-year-old leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). This will be the fourth tenure of Soren as the Chief Minister, with such wide support in the state proving his political acumen.
Soren won this time also from the same constituency Barhait assembly constituency, though it was a very competitive match he defeated BJP candidate Gamliyel Hembrom by a vast majority of 39,791 votes.
JMM-Led Alliance Makes History in the State Election of Jharkhand
The 2024 assembly elections in Jharkhand witnessed a great success of the alliance. The coalition had won 56 out of the total 81 assembly seats with the BJP-led NDA trailing far behind with a mere 24 seats. The JMM secured 34 of the 43 seats that it contested. The alliance partner, Congress, bagged 21 seats while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) win four seats. Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) [CPI(ML)] won two.

Soren has invited some key leaders from the INDIA bloc and other parties for attending the mega event. These include:

- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi
- NCP(SP) chief Sharad Pawar
- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann
- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu
- AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal
- Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray
- Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin
- Bihar's Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav
Other notable people include Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, and Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.
