Bengaluru's Radical New Rule: Dumping Trash Back at Your Doorstep!

Tired of people ignoring “No Littering” signs? Bengaluru has launched a bold anti‑littering drive called Kasa Suriyuva Habba (“Garbage Dumping Festival”) to tackle this head‑on.

Authorities in the city traced hundreds of repeat offenders, homes and shops repeatedly dumping trash in public, and then trucked the same garbage back to their doorsteps, along with fines ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹10,000.

The strategy doesn’t stop there: the BBMP / BSWML civic body has also introduced a citizen reward program, if you record a video of someone littering in public and send it to the authorities, you can earn ₹250 per accepted complaint.

This hard‑hitting “Garbage Dumping Festival” drive is proving that, in Bengaluru, extreme measures may be needed to enforce basic cleanliness.

This innovative approach is turning heads nationwide. Is this the solution India’s streets have been waiting for?
