During a team dinner at a popular Indian restaurant, "Mister Singh's India – The Home of Curry," Olympic and CWG medalist Lovlina Borgohain noticed a glaring error: the map of India printed on the restaurant's napkins and displayed outside had completely omitted the Northeastern states.

Lovlina's Stand: The star boxer, who hails from Assam, calmly but firmly confronted the restaurant management. She stated, "As someone from the North East, that really hurts us," and urged them to ensure every part of the country is correctly represented.
J&K Also Misrepresented: Boxing Federation of India (BFI) President Ajay Singh backed Lovlina, further pointing out that the map also failed to depict the complete territorial boundaries of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Apology: The restaurant's management acknowledged the mistake, claiming the error stemmed from using a "British map," and issued an unconditional apology, promising to immediately redesign their logo and branding with the correct map of India.
Social Media Blackout: Interestingly, shortly after issuing their formal apology online, the restaurant inexplicably deactivated or deleted its official Instagram account.

This incident occurred on the same day the Indian boxing team scripted history by winning an unprecedented 10 medals (seven gold and three silver) at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Lovlina herself secured a silver medal in her weight category.
