Strong minds always find a way to follow their passion. This is the story of Dixit Mehta. A 32-year Founder of a Law Firm who never gave up on his vision. It was always in the back of Dixit's mind that he would work to help others.
Following that mindset, Dixit has founded Ductus Legal, a Firm with a Progressive work approach. The goal of the Founder and his organization being the expansion of its clientele and its internal team. Ductus Legal deals with corporate law - primarily with expertise ranging from intellectual property to Startup Law, Corporate Law, Cyber Law, Data Privacy and Commercial Disputes.

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for today. And Dixit has been putting his best foot forward for a long time. It was like he didn't have a choice and he was always telling that to himself. He had a plan charted out for himself much before many of us even think what stream to pick for our Honours degrees.
Money was not a luxury that he could afford. But Dixit is someone who stands testimony to an age-old belief - If you want to study, you don’t need an expensive school or facility. You only need yourself!
Dixit completed his schooling at a local school in his village Siwan, Haryana. Then he went on to graduate in Business Administration from SD College, Chandigarh.
But it wasn't just the graduation degree he was after. He also completed his Company Secretary course. Following that study, he studied Law at the Department of Laws, Panjab University equipping himself with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Civil, Criminal and Commercial Laws degree.
Education is very powerful, and Dixit always knew if he wants to truly help people, he needs to increase his power. And he didn't stop.
In 2014, after completing graduation Dixit started practising licence. He joined the Delhi-based law firm Equi Law Partners. His practice and education had gotten off to a great start.
And it was the start of many other thoughts. He soon became aware that he needed to accomplish more while working. A warm and comfortable zone would be a hindrance to the dreams he has for himself and his fellow citizens. Instead of engaging in traditional legal practice, he wanted to create a purposeful, problem-solving legal consulting business that is accessible to entrepreneurs, founders, and small- and medium-sized businesses.
In 2018, a sharp mind and fair opportunity combined to discover the startup law firm - Ductus Legal. The firm was established with the mission of promoting a progressive work approach by assisting startups and established businesses with legal advice and consulting. Now in 2022, they are already a team of 15 people - firmly believing that disputes should be settled without resorting to litigation.
Dixit has found his purpose. And the new journey has begun to change his life as well as others. During this impeccable expedition, Ductus Law firm worked with many new start-ups and companies who needed their help. One of their flagship pathbreakers was their work with NeoStencil as their Intellectual Property and Dispute resolution consultants which was later acquired by Unacademy.
And the list of clients began to grow - JK group, FlaktGroup India, India Glycols Limited, Bajaj Finance, BL Lifescience, Rnaux, Plastx, and Sudhir Power Limited... They were creating their rightful mark in the Corporate Law corridors. And these were not just clients. These were businesses that trusted them to advise right and deliver.
As they say, "Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work." Dixit is a hard worker for sure but he also enjoys what he does. He believes the best part of this journey was when they worked on mergers, intellectual property, and Private Equity and saw startups growing from scratch.
Let's not pretend that it will be easy because it won't be. Every client, small venture or startup teaches you different aspects of the business, Dixit says. "It is heartwarming to see how the careful work you do to protect your client's intellectual property, make sure they have the right equity structure, write agreements, or assist them in resolving disputes amicably has benefited not only them but also us."
However, we must never lose sight of those who continuously showed their gratitude and support. That support in Dixit's life came from his family. A family that doesn't come from means but believes in the power of dreams. Dixit is a proud son of a farmer. Through thick and thin, his parents, brother, and wife stood by him.
Realizing your passion is crucial, and doing so is an ongoing process that enables you to discover what truly gives you life. Dixit's journey is assisting him in finding the solutions to his career and life-related questions. Being an employer too, is a whole mindset shift. Providing salaries to your employees has given much more value to Dixit's life. It is challenging, but there is no fun in ordinary life without a challenge.
When asked what he would like to tell his young counterparts, Dixit opens up in a completely surprising manner, "20 is the age when one can explore the world with their own eyes. Instead of hiding behind parents or friends, a 20-year individual should spend more time with themself. Travelling alone, meeting new people, and exploring new cultures will help you to find your true self. You will not only discover new locations but also opportunities, ways to go, and aspects of yourself that you were unaware of."
