The Founder’s Story: An Interview with Lopamudra Das

Q: Please tell us about yourself.

A: I am a Woman Fitness Specialist and a Nutritionist. My own journey led me to this field, and now I focus on helping women—especially mothers, postnatal, prenatal, and busy professionals—who struggle to find time for workouts. My goal is to make fitness as simple and accessible as possible.

Q: What is your brand name?

A: My brand is called Train with Lopa.

Q: Does your brand have a tagline?

A: Yes, my tagline is KIS—Keep It Simple.

Q: Who are the founders of your brand?

A: It’s a standalone startup, founded and run by me independently.

Q: Where is your business currently located, and which geographies do you serve?

A: My entire platform is digital, with very few in-person sessions. I am based in Pune, India, but my clients are primarily from the US, Canada, Europe, and Singapore.

The Birth of Train with Lopa

Q: How did your brand come into being? What inspired you to start it?

A: My transformation started during motherhood. I worked in IT for almost nine years after completing my MSc in Statistics. Though I had always been conscious about fitness and nutrition, it was only after pregnancy that I faced serious health challenges.

During pregnancy, I gained 30 kilos and believed I could easily shed the weight by joining a gym. But the reality of motherhood made that impossible. Sleepless nights, constant attention to my newborn, and lack of time meant that going to the gym was a luxury I couldn’t afford.

Moving to the United States with a newborn made it even harder to access gyms. So, I designed my own home workout regimen.

So, I started working out at home, using whatever little knowledge I had about fitness and nutrition. Over time, I lost all 30 kilos without stepping into a gym. Returning to India after a few years, I realized that millions of women face the same struggle, whether they are new mothers, working professionals, or homemakers juggling responsibilities.

My vision was clear: To help women train effectively at home without the need for fancy equipment or complicated diets. I wanted to educate them about strength training and sustainable fitness, not just as a way to lose weight, but to focus on strength training, muscle-building, and fat loss, with a simple and holistic approach.

That’s how Train with Lopa was born.

Purpose, Vision, and Culture

Q: What is the purpose behind your brand?
A: The main purpose is to educate and empower women, especially mothers, about the importance of strength training.

Many women in India still believe that fitness is limited to yoga, Zumba, or casual walks. But real fitness is about building muscle, improving metabolism, and gaining strength—not just losing weight.

My goal is to break these myths and help women understand that strength training is not about looking bulky, but about becoming stronger, healthier, and more confident.

Q: What is your vision for the brand? Where do you want to take it?

A: My vision is to educate more women globally about the power of strength training. Many women still believe:

  • Strength training makes women bulky

  • You can’t train effectively at home

  • You must follow extreme diets to lose weight

I want Train with Lopa to become a movement that encourages women to embrace fitness as a way of life.

Q: What is the culture you aim to create within your brand?

A: I follow my tagline KISS—Keep It Simple & Sustainable.

In today’s world, social media floods us with misinformation about fitness—fad diets, extreme workout routines, and unrealistic expectations. I want to cut through the noise and help women focus on what actually works.

I follow a holistic approach:

  • No extreme diets

  • No over-complicated workouts

  • A balance of nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management

Growing the Brand

Q: What is your strategy for scaling the business?

A: My strategy is simple—authenticity, word-of-mouth, and social media engagement.

I don’t rely on gimmicks or unrealistic promises. Instead, I let my clients’ results speak for themselves. I am highly active on social media, where I share realistic fitness tips, debunk myths, and engage with my audience interactively.

My fun, engaging, and interactive approach makes people feel comfortable and motivated. Many women feel overwhelmed by fitness, and my goal is to make it fun, approachable, and sustainable.

Q: How would you describe your brand’s personality?

A: Witty, interactive, and approachable

Fitness is often seen as stressful. Many women quit because they feel pressured. I want to change that mindset.

Instead of making fitness a burden, I make it fun and engaging through my workouts, social media, and personal interactions.
