“Live as if there is no tomorrow, learn as if you will live forever". - Mahatma Gandhi
Dhanya grew up seeing her father as an entrepreneur. She saw his pleasures and pains. He always said, “Till the day you are trying, you will keep moving ahead in life. Challenges should not be an excuse to stop you from achieving your dreams”. This stayed with her forever, making her believe in the value of responsibility. She learned to not blame others and create a positive environment in her personal as well as professional life.
Today as she stands as the co-founder of Neptune Excellence and as an inspirational HR Head of a Life Coaching firm, Dhanya Menon has transformed many lives, including her own. She has spent her time being associated with Human Resources in various firms and has been an ICF Approved Coach (ACC), NLP Trainer, Harisson Assessment Assessor, and Life Coach. Dhanya has been advising those in need with her skills in life, leadership, and transformational coaching.
Having spent her early years in Mumbai and graduating from Carmel College, Dhanya enrolled herself in a coach training program which was approved by ICF (International Coaching Federation). This transformed her life and her outlook towards what it throws at you. Her father's life lessons were now being theoretically proven as well. She started looking at challenges as a person looks at opportunities. Her step to building a company out of her now-established beliefs was the next and seemingly obvious step.
Dhanya has a Professional Training and Coaching centre with a certification from International Coaching Federation (ICF). She provides access to local and global networking opportunities, cutting-edge business development and marketing education, and a variety of research and resources to help her clients reach their coaching goals. Her team consists of highly experienced and diversely equipped consultants who add an immense amount of value to the knowledge base of her organization.
But as much as she seems much-evolved and has everything under control, she doesn't have it easy either. Every day has a different story. Some are light while some are dark. She admits she isn’t the best version of herself on the dark days but her goals keep her going. It’s like fuel for the engine. She realizes she gains her energy through people. Her openness to experience and her curiosity helps her to accept variety among the people she comes across - some of whom come from different backgrounds, most of whom come from different viewpoints. It is a happy zone for her as much as it is work.
“Coaching & Coach Training as a profession is very full filing and keeps me in a positive frame of mind all the time as I get the opportunity to change my Worldview on an evolving basis,” quips Dhanya when asked about what keeps her so driven. She is inspired by high-performing individuals. Her profession has taken her to unchartered areas, trying to innovate solutions ahead of time. Her journey with herself and others has been about always striving to take her career graph upward and grow by overcoming and learning from the hurdles in her way.
The only desire she has though is if she could ever travel back in time and motivate her younger self to start this journey a bit early, to not fear, and to do what she feels right.
She believes one should dive straight in and take responsibility for one's dreams and one's life. When asked to elaborate on how she advises her counterparts to do that, she says, "Waiting for approval from the others is a never-ending quest. Humans put in so much effort to have a good relationship with everyone in their life but neglect having a good relationship with themselves. We have such a huge world but still such a short life, so just explore yourself and everything else that you can."
Nobody should be more important to you in your life than you, so don't let any fear hold you back
