SRK Receives Death Threat, Case Filed
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan reportedly received a death threat, marking the second major Bollywood actor to be targeted with such intimidation recently. According to a report by Times Now, the threat call was made to the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai, where a case has been filed against an unknown caller.
Mumbai Police Action on Threat
The Mumbai Police acted swiftly. They have constituted a team that was sent to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, which is reported to be the location of the caller, Faizan. He, in a menacing call, allegedly demanded an emergency ransom of ₹50 lakh and threatened to kill. So far, no one has been arrested in this case.
The investigation is underway
Mumbai Police officials claim that till now, no arrest has been reported, but the case is going full blast under sections 308(4) (threats involving serious harm or death) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The registered case marks a serous step taken by the police in connection with the protection of one of the biggest stars in Bollywood.
Feud between Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
Salman Khan was earlier threatened by a man who claimed to be associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A suspect, Bikaram Jalaram Bishnoi, was arrested in Karnataka, said to be a relative of Lawrence Bishnoi, who has been harbouring a grudge against the actor since the 1998 blackbuck case against the Bishnoi community. The latest arrest was made after a ransom demand of ₹5 crore was received through the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline.
A Legal System Under Scanning scrutiny
Besides, the threat messages can come from any location so easily, it raises questions about the quality of India's justice and law enforcement mechanism. There are reports that some criminal groups still manage to operate even when they are behind the bars-sending threats to influential personalities with properly coordinated meetings-in that regard, is it possible that criminals may continue to manipulate things behind the police bars? This nasty trend puts all security and judicial methods of India under the scanner.
