Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun honoured at 69th National Film Awards

The 69th National Film Awards ceremony, celebrating the best of Indian cinema in 2021, is being held at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The winners, announced in September, will be honored by President Droupadi Murmu. The Press Information Bureau is live-streaming the ceremony on social media.

The ceremony is a star-studded affair, with several winners flying in from Mumbai and other cities to receive their awards. Among them are Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy, and Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta.

The 69th National Film Awards showcase a diverse range of films that have achieved significant recognition this year. R Madhavan's "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" has been honoured as the Best Feature Film, and Allu Arjun has made history as the first Telugu actor to claim the Best Actor award for his role in "Pushpa: The Rise." The Best Actress award has been jointly bestowed upon Alia Bhatt for "Gangubai Kathiawadi" and Kriti Sanon for "Mimi."

The legendary actress Waheeda Rehman was bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2021. President Droupadi Murmu had the honor of presenting this prestigious accolade. The 85-year-old actress, known for her unforgettable performances in movies like "Guide," "Kaagaz Ke Phool," "Chaudhvin Ka Chaand," and more, was visibly moved as she received a standing ovation during the ceremony.

The best actress winners of the 69th National Film Awards, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon, along with best supporting actress winner Pallavi Joshi, were seen posing for a picture with Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Waheeda Rehman. MM Keeravani, an Oscar-winning music composer, achieved significant recognition by securing the Best Music Direction (Background Music) award for "RRR." The record-breaking blockbuster also earned the prestigious Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment accolade. These are the standout moments from the National Film Awards.

Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to post a picture with Ranbir Kapoor, Allu Arjun, and Kriti Sanon. In a separate post, Kriti Sanon shared images with her parents to celebrate her National Award win on Tuesday. On her Instagram, she expressed, "It's hard to put into words the emotions I'm feeling... Today will remain one of the most unforgettable days in my life! #NationalAward #BestActress #Mimi."

Karan Johar expressed his gratitude and shared a video on Instagram following his receipt of the National Award for "Shershaah." Meanwhile, Vivek Agnihotri, in an X post, conveyed that the Nargis Dutt Award for a Film on National Integration awarded to his film "The Kashmir Files" is a tribute to all those affected by religious terrorism.
