Maruti hikes vehicle prices

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) announced on Friday that it will increase the prices of its cars from January 2023. The company said that the hike is due to increased cost pressure driven by overall inflation and recent regulatory requirements. In December 2022, Maruti Suzuki announced its intention to hike prices in January.

Maruti Suzuki was founded in 1981 and is a joint venture between the Indian Government and Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan. 

Maruti Suzuki was the first Indian car manufacturer to launch an SUV, the Gypsy, in 1985.  Maruti Suzuki has an extensive product portfolio, ranging from hatchbacks to sedans, SUVs, and vans.

Maruti Suzuki has developed and launched several fuel-efficient cars, such as the Alto K10, WagonR, and S-Presso. Maruti Suzuki also has a range of luxury vehicles, such as the Kizashi and Grand Vitara. Maruti Suzuki has a strong presence in the used car market, with its True Value service.

Maruti Suzuki has invested in green mobility solutions such as CNG, mild hybrids, and electric vehicles and has a network of over 3,600 sales outlets and service centers across India.
