ShareChat Alumni founded General Autonomy bags $3M seed funding

ShareChat alumni Farid Ahsan and Bhanu Singh have bagged $3 million in seed funding for their new startup, General Autonomy, which is building AI-powered machines to automate parts of labor workflows in factories.

The round was led by India Quotient and Elevation Capital, with participation from angel investors such as Srinath Ramakkrushnan (co-founder of Zetwerk), Ramakant Sharma (co-founder of Livspace), and Ankush Sachdeva (co-founder of ShareChat).

General Autonomy was founded in May 2023 by Ahsan and Singh, who previously held active roles in ShareChat. The company aims to revolutionize the future of factories by making them more agile and distributed like software development.

General Autonomy's AI-powered machines are designed to automate repetitive and dangerous tasks in factories, freeing up human workers to focus on more complex and creative tasks. The company's technology is also being used to develop new manufacturing processes that are more sustainable and efficient.

The $3 million seed funding will be used by General Autonomy to accelerate its product development and expand its team. The company plans to launch its first commercial product in 2024.

Potential applications of General Autonomy's AI-powered machines:

  • Assembly lines: General Autonomy's machines could be used to automate tasks such as assembling electronic components, packaging products, and quality control.
  • Warehouses: General Autonomy's machines could be used to automate tasks such as picking and packing orders, moving inventory, and loading and unloading trucks.
  • Manufacturing plants: General Autonomy's machines could be used to automate tasks such as machining parts, welding components, and painting products.

Benefits of using General Autonomy's AI-powered machines:

  • Increased productivity: General Autonomy's machines can work faster and more accurately than human workers, leading to increased productivity and output.
  • Reduced costs: General Autonomy's machines can help to reduce labor costs and other operating costs.
  • Improved safety: General Autonomy's machines can automate dangerous tasks, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Increased flexibility: General Autonomy's machines can be easily reprogrammed to perform new tasks, making it easier for factories to adapt to changing production needs.

Overall, General Autonomy's AI-powered machines have the potential to revolutionize the manufacturing industry by making factories more productive, efficient, and safe.
