Days after Twitter's executive chair Elon Musk placed a temporary limit on the number of tweets users may read on the social media platform, Meta Platforms intends to release the microblogging software Threads. According to a listing in Apple's App Store, Threads, Instagram's text-based chat app, will launch on Thursday and allow users to maintain their identity while following the profiles they already follow on the photo-sharing network.
After Twitter placed several restrictions on the software, including the requirement to be verified in order to use TweetDeck, the application has now been made available. Musk's most recent declarations to address data scraping drew angry responses from Twitter users, and advertising experts argued it would damage the newly hired CEO Linda Yaccarino.
