Meta, owned by Mark Zuckerberg, has launched two AI-based features for video editing suitable for Instagram and Facebook posts. These features, Emu Video and Emu Edit, were introduced on Thursday.
The initial feature, Emu Video creates brief four-second videos with captions, photos, or images, complemented by a description. Meanwhile, Emu Edit streamlines video customization through text prompts. These advancements in AI-driven video editing tools aim to enhance the content-sharing experience on social media platforms.
These newly launched features by Meta from the Emu parent model, designed to generate images based on text prompts. Emu serves as the foundational technology for various AI image editing tools on Instagram, providing users with the capability to modify a photo's visual style or background. Emu Edit ensures precision in focusing solely on changes relevant to the user's edit request, avoiding unnecessary alterations to other aspects of the design.
In the last year, businesses have increasingly turned to the emerging generative AI market, aiming for improved capabilities and more efficient business processes since the late 2022 introduction of OpenAI's ChatGPT.
In the AI domain, Meta, the social media giant, has swiftly progressed, becoming a central player in competition with industry giants like Microsoft, Alphabet's Google, and Amazon.
