Today, Google will reveal its new phones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, at the Made by Google event in New York City, starting at 7:30 PM IST. Interested viewers can watch the live stream on Google's website and YouTube channel.
It is expected that the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will feature significant updates over their predecessors. The Pixel 8 Pro will support a 6.7-inch display, identical to the Pixel 7 Pro, while the base Pixel 8 will have a little smaller display measuring 6.17 inches.
Pixel 8 Pro camera is rumoured to get a major upgrade with new wide, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses. The Pixel 8 Pro is rumoured to have a powerful rear camera system with a 50MP wide lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens with close-up capabilities, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom. The standard Pixel 8 is also expected to have a great camera system, with a 50MP wide lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens with close-up capabilities.
It is reported that both devices will feature a 10.5MP front-facing camera, which is a little lower than the previous generation’s 10.8MP selfie camera. The new devices could support HDR and DSLR-style controls for more clearer images.
Both smartphones will be powered by Google’s new Tensor G3 chip. The Pixel 8 will offer 8GB of RAM while the Pixel 8 Pro will come with a hefty 12GB of RAM. Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro might even feature a temperature sensor.
According to earlier leaks suggest that the Pixel 8 could cost $100 more than the Pixel 7 in the US, starting at $699. The Pixel 8 Pro could also see a $100 price increase, to $999.
