Don't Panic During The Next Internet Blackout! WhatsApp Introduces New Feature to Keep Your Messaging Going

Meta's popular messaging app WhatsApp has added a feature to help users get around attempts to stop them from using its services, like internet blackouts. Proxy connections are being added to the encrypted messaging app to assist users in connecting to the internet. With this new feature, users can connect to WhatsApp through proxy servers, allowing them to remain online even when the internet is blocked or disrupted by shutdowns.

This time too, WhatsApp is looking to keep its users connected even in adverse situations like internet blackouts. WhatsApp has stated that it will provide instructions on how to set up proxies and has asked members of the global community to volunteer proxies to facilitate "free communication."

End-to-end encryption will continue to safeguard personal messages when connecting to WhatsApp through a proxy.
