Don't go crazy with the QR code Mehendi- it's got a payment link

In various regions of India today, people celebrate Raksha Bandhan, also known as rakhi, which honors the relationship between brothers and sisters. Before tying the auspicious rakhi around their brother's wrist, girls and ladies decorate their hands with mehendi on this auspicious occasion. Brothers frequently follow the custom of tying rakhi by giving their sisters a present or some cash.

Now, a humorous QR code rakhi that has simplified this "gift-giving" process is becoming popular.

A well-known mehendi artist who goes by the Instagram handle @yash_mehndi published a video of himself drawing a QR code on a woman's hand on Sunday. A user could then use an online payment platform like Paytm by scanning this scannable QR.

This QR code mehendi was created with the intention of making it simpler for brothers to send money directly to their sister's accounts without having to deal with cash.

Over 7,000 likes have been given to this "mind-blowing" film so far. "For a second I felt kya artist hai mehendi wala then I realized it's a video," an Instagram user commented. Another commenter said, "Haha... mind-blowing."

In India, many people utilize QR codes to make purchases. A beggar from Bihar named Raju Patel made headlines in February of last year when he abandoned the conventional manner of seeking alms in favor of utilizing PhonePe, a digital wallet and online payment tool. Patel's invention amused some, who dubbed him "India's first digital beggar" in jest. A few others also emphasized how little poverty has been reduced by technology and digital literacy.
