Ant Group has expanded its "Alipay+-in-China" Program (A+China Program) to welcome seven new e-wallet and payment apps from Asia, including mPay, Hipay, Changi Pay, OCBC, Naver Pay, Toss Pay, and TrueMoney. This program allows users of these e-wallets to use their preferred payment app within China, enabling seamless mobile payments across Alipay's extensive merchant network. With these additions, there are now a total of 10 overseas e-wallets accepted in the Chinese mainland.
Alipay+ also officially welcomes five new mobile payment partners to its global merchant network. It offers cross-border mobile payment, marketing, and digitalization solutions, connecting global and local merchants to cross-border digital consumers. Alipay+ currently covers 5 million merchants in 56 markets outside of China and collaborates with over 20 mobile payment partners across Asia.
The A+China Program is supported by the People's Bank of China, NetsUnion Clearing Corporation, and various financial institutions in China, allowing travellers to bind their international bank cards to Alipay for mobile payments in China.
Additionally, iQIYI, a leading international streaming platform, utilizes Alipay+ marketing solutions to expand its reach among young middle-class consumers in key markets. More than 1 million consumers outside of China have used Alipay+ partner e-wallets to pay for subscriptions or content on iQIYI's international app. This collaboration is part of iQIYI's efforts to tap into the growing global over-the-top (OTT) market.
Alipay+ continues to offer customized marketing solutions through the Alipay+ Rewards program, helping merchant partners expand their market outreach efforts.
In summary, Ant Group's Alipay+ program facilitates seamless cross-border mobile payments, marketing, and digitalization solutions, with a focus on expanding its network of partners and merchant services. It aims to cater to the evolving needs of consumers and businesses in the digital payment landscape.
