Sandeep Patil made a valuable contribution of 27 runs, and the lower-order batsmen chipped in, but India could only manage a modest total of 183 runs in their allotted 60 overs.
The West Indies bowling attack, led by Andy Roberts, Malcolm Marshall, and Michael Holding, put up an impressive performance, taking regular wickets and restricting India's scoring.
