New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has become the batter with the most centuries in World Cup history. During the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, Ravindra scored his third century of the tournament in a match against Pakistan in Bengaluru. He hit 108 runs off 94 balls, including 15 fours and a six, at a strike rate of 114.
Ravindra's three centuries in this World Cup have surpassed the previous records held by Glenn Turner, Kane Williamson, and Martin Guptill for the most centuries by a New Zealand batter in a single World Cup edition. His three tonnes also make him the batter with the most centuries in World Cup history for New Zealand.
Additionally, Ravindra's third century is the best score by a batter in their first World Cup, which makes his accomplishment even more impressive. He now has three centuries in the World Cup before he turns 25. This ties him with Sachin Tendulkar for the most runs scored in a single World Cup before turning 25.
In terms of overall performance, Ravindra has scored 523 runs in eight games so far, with an average of 74.71 and a strike rate of over 107. This includes three centuries and two fifties, with his highest score being 123*. With 545 runs, he is currently the second-highest run scorer in the competition, behind South Africa's Quinton de Kock.
