Mirabai Chanu fails to get a lift in her final attempt at 114kgs, and that means that the India star finishes in the fourth spot. Another medal miss for India.

MIRABAI CHANU HAS MANAGED A LIFT ON HER 3RD SNTCH ATTEMPT AT 88 kgs. She is now at the top spot, and it is now to clean and jerk.

Mirabai Chanu starts with a comfortable lift on her first snatch at 85 kgs. The India star needs to maintain her composure for the clean and jerk now.

India lost to Germany 1-3 in the quarterfinal of the women's team event. Manika Batra, Sreeja Akula and Achana Kamath fell short of a berth in the top 4. 

♦ Annu fails to qualify for Women's Javelin final

53.55m for Annu Rani in her third attempt in the women's javelin throw. Unfortunately, this means that Annu Rani has failed to reach the final as her best of 55.81m put her in 15th place in Group A.

♦ JAVELIN: Annu Rani throws 53.22m in 2nd attempt

Annu Rani managed a 53.22 throw in her second attempt in the women's javelin qualification, which puts her 14th in Group A. A lot of work to do in the remaining two attempts for the Indian, with the automatic qualifying mark set at 62m.

♦ ATHLETICS: Jyothi into repechage

Indian athlete Jyothi Yarraji clocked 13.16 seconds in Heat 4 of Round 1 of the women's 100m hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Wednesday. Although she finished seventh in her heat and did not secure direct qualification to the semi-finals, Yarraji will have another chance tomorrow in the repêchage round.

♦ TABLE TENNIS: Archana-Sreeja lose Match 1

Archana Kamath and Sreeja Akula lost match 1 against Germany 5-11, 11-8, 10-12, 6-11.. Manika Batra coming next..

♦ ATHLETICS: Annu Rani in action

In the women's javelin throw competition, Annu Rani, the national record holder, is in Group A. She will have to breach the qualification standard of 62.00m, which is lower than her personal best of 63.82m, or finish at least among the top 12 best performers to qualify for the final.

♦  GOLF: Aditi Ashok in action

Aditi Ashok is currently taking part in the women's stroke play in golf. Aditi missed out on winning a medal in Tokyo after finishing fourth. She is also taking part in her third Olympic Games after making her debut back in Rio 2016. 

♦  TABLE TENNIS: Sreeja, Manika in quarters

India's women's table tennis team is taking on Germany in the women's team quarterfinal. Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath will face Yuan Wan and Shan Xiaona of Germany. Manika Batra will take on Germany’s Annett Kaufmann.

♦  BREAKING: Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat disqualified

Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the women's 50kg final in wrestling. Found 100gm overweight this morning during weigh-in ahead of her gold medal bout. Won't be on the podium. Not even eligible for silver
