Wrestling star Vinesh Phogat will also be back in action, vying for victory in the Women’s Freestyle 50 KG Round of 16. Neeraj Chopra is still leading the qualification event with that monster of a throw of 89.34m. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem is at the fourth spot. And two-time former world champion Anderson Peters at the 2nd spot. This is going to be a cracker of a final on August 8. Seven men have sealed automatic qualification so far. There were only six in the Tokyo Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra you beauty! The Indian javelin thrower has hit a monster throw with an 89.34 m. That's it for Neeraj for the day and the best effort so far. It's Neeraj's best throw in the Olympics as well

⇒ WRESTLING: VINESH PHOGAT QUALIFIES 

A big win in Paris! Vinesh Phogat has beaten Yui Susaki to knock the top seed out. The Indian was able to put the Japanese star on the mat in the dying seconds to get 2 points and secure the win. Vinesh won the match 3-2 as she got 2 points and one more point for the wrong challenge. Onto the quarters for the Indian star!

It's going to be tough for Kishore Jena to make it to the final. He finishes 9th in the Group A with a best effort of 80.73. If early signs are anything to go by, it's going to be a cracker of a final on August 8.

Manav Thakkar lost to Wang Chuqin as India crashed out of the men's team event after losing 0-3 to China in the Round of 16. The women's team, however, is still alive in the competition.

Vinesh Phogat will have her work cut out on Tuesday as she will be up against Japan's Yui Susaki, one of the best wrestlers in recent times in the 50kg category.

Sharath Kamal is under a bit of pressure as he lost the third game 7-11 to Fan Zhendong. The Indian now needs to win the last two games to make it 1-1 for the Indian team. 

⇒ JAVELIN: A sub-80 throw from Kishore Jena and he marks it foul

Kishore Jena's second attempt would have been around 75-78. He knew it was not as expected and stepped over the line to mark it as a foul. Kishore Jena is at the 7th spot in Qualification Group A. He needs a better effort if he is to stay in the hunt for a place in the final. Trinidad's Keshorn Walcott threw 83.02m to vault him into the top 5. The London Olympic Gold medalist and the Rio Olympics bronze medallist is warming up well for the big final.
