MotoGP Indian Grand Prix: Martin wins in sprint race after Bezzecchi crashes on first turn

Jorge Martin dominated the MotoGP Indian Grand Prix Sprint Race at the Buddh International Circuit. He started second but quickly overtook the pole-sitter, Marco Bezzecchi, and maintained a lead of 1.389 seconds at the finish line. The race distance was shortened due to extreme heat, affecting rider performance.

Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia finished second, conceding only three points to Martin. Marc Marquez took third place, marking his best result since Portugal's opening weekend. Gresini Racing expressed interest in signing Marquez, raising hopes for his future.

Teammates Bezzecchi and Luca Marini collided at Turn 1, with Marini missing his braking point. Bezzecchi continued to finish fifth and clocked the fastest lap. Marini was penalized and will serve it in the next race due to a broken collarbone.

Brad Binder made an impressive recovery, finishing fourth for KTM, while Jack Miller secured seventh place. Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo finished sixth, and Maverick Vinales claimed the final points position in eighth.

Aleix Espargaro's day worsened after a poor qualifying and a race crash. Joan Mir also crashed out in lap 3 despite a strong fifth position in qualifying.

The session was delayed due to wet weather, allowing the track to dry before the race. The Indian Grand Prix race is set for Sunday, with Marco Bezzecchi starting on the pole, followed by Martin and Bagnaia.
