Kane Williamson on Sunday announced that he will be ready to captain his side for the upcoming three-match T201 home series against Bangladesh.
Williamson last played the T20I during the home series against India in November last month. He recently was seen making a comeback in the
ODI World Cup in October -November. He was out of action for so many months because he had knee surgery following the rehab of his ligament which he had ruptured during the start of the IPL season, 2023.
The players joining Williamson in the t20 series are, Tim Southee, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips. These players were seen rested for the ODI matches against Bangladesh.
Devon Conway, the opening batter for the Kiwi is on a break to manage the heavy workload in 2023. There are other several players being rested
due to injuries including, Lockie Ferguson, Henry Shipley, Matt Henry and Michael Bracewell.
Williamson’s return is seen as a boost for the Kiwis as they look to strengthen their team and lay a roadmap for a successful run for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
