Jabeur's Breakthrough in 2022: Primed and Ready for Success

Tennis player Ons Jabeur hails from Tunisia. She is the first Arab woman to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal at the 2020 Australian Open and the first to enter the top 50 WTA rankings.

Jabeur hopes that 2023 will be the year she finally ascends to the elite echelons of women's tennis after progressively climbing to a career-high ranking of No. 2 after suffering heartbreak in two finals.

"I'm trying my hardest to win a Grand Slam. I'm just going to go for it for myself. She stated in Adelaide, "This year, 2023, is about 'just be free' and play my game on the court."

Jabeur was born on February 10, 1993, in Monastir, Tunisia. She began playing tennis at seven and turned professional in 2010. Jabeur's career-high singles ranking is World No. 30, which she achieved in January 2020. She has won three singles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit.

Jabeur is renowned for her assertive playing style and versatility in shot selection. She has competed for Tunisia in both the Olympic Games and the Fed Cup. Jabeur is the first Arab woman to advance to the third round of the 2016 French Open and the first to win a main draw match at a Grand Slam.

The first Arab woman to advance to a Grand Slam quarterfinal, she did it in 2020 at the Australian Open. Jabeur is one of the few female Muslim players on the WTA tour and has spoken about the challenges of balancing her faith with her profession. She is active on social media, particularly on Instagram, and has a large following among tennis fans.
