The second quarter witnessed more Indian pressure, resulting in Katariya's second goal (21').
In the 27th minute, Lalremsiami set up Sangita Kumari for India's third goal (28'). Shortly after, Salima Tete's assist allowed Lalremsiami to strike again (28'), securing India's fourth goal. The third quarter saw India maintain control, repelling Malaysia's efforts.
Navneet Kaur came close to scoring, but India's fifth goal came from brilliant teamwork. Vandana Katariya found Jyoti (38') for a well-deserved goal.
