"While being transported from the clubhouse to the team bus, Glenn Maxwell fell off the back of a cart and sustained a minor concussion," stated head coach Andrew McDonald of Australia.
Glenn Maxwell, an Australian batter, suffered a concussion and facial bruises after falling off a golf cart, which caused him to miss Australia's World Cup match against England on November 4.
After a round on Monday, Maxwell was riding on the back of a golf cart when he fell off.
"He's doing fine, he'll start some light exercises today and we feel as though it will be a reasonably straightforward return to play protocol," McDonald stated to reporters.
Maxwell missed Australia's recent tour of South Africa due to an ankle problem, and he also shattered his leg in a strange accident at a birthday party in Melbourne last November.
Maxwell, who scored a century off 40 balls against the Netherlands, has been in outstanding form throughout the competition.
"There's no doubt it leaves us a fraction exposed at the back end in terms of how Glenn's been performing," McDonald stated. "But Marcus Stoinis does become available, all things going well at training today."
